ISLAMABAD: At least 31 militants, including few foreigners, were killed in Malakand, Bannu and South Waziristan during the last 24 hours, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Sunday.

At least 50 militants were also injured as the operation continued in these areas.

In Swat's Kabal tehsil, a consolidation and search operation was continuing, DawnNews quoted the ISPR as saying.

A soldier was killed while three were injured during an exchange of fire with militants in Kabal.

Troops have also consolidated their positions in Ring Contour and the heights east of Chuprial and have recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from tunnels.

A search and cordon operation is being carried out in different areas, including Loe Namal, Kuz Shaur and Matta, the ISPR said.

Meanwhile in South Waziristan, 30 militants were killed and 50 were injured in Makeen during an air strike on Saturday.
