FBR-KCCI body to discuss tax rules
KARACHI, July 30: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Friday set up a six-member committee comprising members of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and FBR officials to examine tax related issues pertaining to amendments brought through the Finance Act 2010.
Shahid Hussain Asad, Member DIP FBR, is the chairman of the committee while other members include Abrar Ahmed, Member Sales Tax FBR, Haroon Farooqi, vice-chairman Business Group KCCI, Qamar Usman, chairman taxation sub-committee, Mohammad Irfan Motan, chairman GST sub-committee of the chamber, and Aftab Ahmed, chief Income Tax Policy, FBR, is member secretary.
The committee will discuss taxation issues and formulate proposals for submission of such issues for approval by the chairman FBR.
President KCCI, Abdul Majid Haji Muhammad, said the FBR chairman had formed the committee after his visit to the chamber on July 22, to discuss budget anomalies and other issues pertaining to Finance Act, 2010.
