Infant kidnapped in Pindi for ransom

RAWALPINDI: Robbers kidnapped an infant son of a man who had recently returned from Saudi Arabia and demanded a huge ransom for his release.

According to sources, the robbers barged into the house of Amir Hameed on Monday and held six-month-old Hamza Hameed at gunpoint and demanded jewellery and cash.

The two robbers remained in the house for more than 24 hours and escaped on Tuesday morning with the boy, jewellery and other valuables. They also took away the boy’s nappies and feeder and demanded a ransom of Rs10 million.

An official said police were striving to trace the kidnappers and recover the boy.
